Killer Country
Tuesday, March 25, 2025
$104.00
We’ll begin with an included buffet lunch at the Coyote Moon Grille and then head for the St. Cloud Paramount Theatre for Killer Country. The Vees grew up on the road and in the business and have spent the better part of the last 40 years wowing audiences across the world! They have performed, recorded and/or toured with a virtual who’s who of Rock And Roll. In 2008 Jeff and Tommy joined forces with their cousin Matt Vee and his talented wife Julie Velline to form “The Killer Vees.” Tommy’s 17 year old son Bennett Vee will be joining the Killer Vees playing lead guitar. Bennett is the grandson of the late Bobby Vee and the third generation of the Vee family to take the stage! The Killer Country band is rounded out by Brian C. Peters from the Mary Jane Alm band on pedal steel and other assorted guitars along with Kale Reed of Johnny Holm Band fame on fiddle, mandolin and vocals and Alexandra Green sharing female lead vocal responsibilities.
Bus will pick up in Fairfax at the old Middle School at 8 a.m., in Gibbon on the west side of the building at 8:15 a.m. and in Winthrop at the MS/HS bus loop at 8:45 a.m. The bus will return to Winthrop at approximately 5:45 p.m., Gibbon at 6 p.m. and Fairfax at 6:15 p.m.

When should we possibly be concerned? We will dig into development and growth at different ages and stages to understand our children better. Also, we will discuss the resources and assistance that is available when there are concerns as well as how we can best support as parents.

Students have done such a great job so far this year! We hope everyone has a restful and wonderful winter break. Schools are closed from December 23 through January 1 with staff Development days and no student attendance on January 2 and 3.

Ms. Tuazon’s 6th grade math class earned themselves a pizza party with the principal for reaching their positive classroom expectation goal! They got to eat lunch in the classroom while watching a short movie which is not a bad way to spend the day.

GFW Elementary students had their practice for the winter concert this morning and they are sounding great! Don't miss the concerts tomorrow (Thursday, Dec. 19) at 1:30 and 6:30 p.m.

Kindergarten immersion students have been working so hard in learning to read and write CVC words. They read words beginning and ending with Bb and worked with partners reading words like bib, bat, fib, cab. They rolled a dice and read words, then they wrote a word and said sentences using the words. They are doing great!

Mrs. Wheatley's fifth grade class put on a play called "What, No Santa?" and did a great job! The students did all the decision making including who got what parts, creating the props, creating the characters' voices and actions, staging, and more with zero help from an adult. They worked and practiced for about three weeks and ended up performing for three different classrooms. Way to go!

Winter break is almost here! Friday, Dec. 20 is an early release day.

The GFW Jazz Band did a great job performing for the middle school students last week!
