It’s almost time for fall conferences! All day conferences will be held on Thursday, Nov. 7 (no school) from 11:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. and in the evening on Thursday, Nov. 14 from 4-8 p.m.

Students at GFW Middle School and High School started their day with a Minnesota State Fair inspired treat today with Nordic berries and cream waffle sandwich!
Last week, the corn field on the ag plot adjacent to the new school facility was harvested! Abby Willegal, FFA Vice-President, Eden Messerli, FFA Chapter President, and William Bastian, FFA Chapter Secretary, along with Jim Weinzetl from the Farmer's Legacy Fund and Mark Turtle, GFW School Board member and Farmer's Legacy Fund member, stopped out to inspect the progress on the harvest.
This plot was prepped, planted and harvested by volunteers from our supportive agriculture community with the proceeds of the 130 bushels per acre that were harvested going to support our school agriculture programs.
Thanks to Mark and Brad Turtle for donating their time and their combine to complete the harvest!
GFW is a community that cheers each other on!
Community Ed Class Alert: Messy Art is for students ages 5+ and takes place on Monday, Nov. 4 from 3:30-5 p.m. Kids will create their own works of art using their imaginations. Very hands on and Messy! Kids will be bringing their works of art home with them. Cost is $18 per student, please register by Oct. 28.

October is National Principals Month, which recognizes the essential role that principals play in making a school great.
Principals are among the hardest working, yet often least recognized individuals in education. Principals set the academic tone for their schools, and it is their vision, dedication, and determination that provide the mobilizing force for achieving student success.

This week is National School Lunch Week! We are so thankful to our incredible food service team that works so hard to provide delicious and nutritious meals for our students. Thank you for everything you do to make the school day run smoothly!
Last week, 10th graders at GFW High School attended Ridgewater’s Ignite Your Future event. It was an interactive opportunity for Sophomores to have access to over 70 hands-on career exploration activities offered by dozens of industry partners and community agencies. Our students really enjoyed trying different things!
There will be no school on Thursday, Oct. 17 and Friday, Oct. 18. Enjoy your break!
