Superintendent’s Report
Dr. Smith shared updates on enrollment and opportunities for board members to go to the MSBA conference in January for professional development and connections to other board members and resources. The theater department will have a production of Legally Blonde this weekend.

December will be a busy agenda with the annual audit, truth in taxation hearing, and a required report for the achievement and integration. The board will also be approving the levy in December.

The board took a tour of the facility project and saw some of the challenges posed by rain, but more walls are going up.

School Reports
Principal Thompson shared that more than $2,200 was raised through the Papa Murphy’s fundraiser. Students have been recognizing and celebrating real life heroes this month with veterans being the featured heroes. Students also saw a production about invasive aquatic species and are busy practicing for their winter concert that will take place on Dec. 19. Staff members also received some training in mat instruction.

GFW High School will be doing a production of Legally Blonde the Musical this weekend in the auditorium. Students have been working hard to prepare. High School students had the football banquet last week.

Attendance at parent teacher conferences held true to trends in recent years. Elementary families had strong attendance which is an important connection with a slight decline in attendance at middle school and not as much at the high school. Dr. Smith shared that part of the reasoning is that parents are able to keep up with their student’s progress in real time through infinite campus and other resources but encouraged families to stay involved.

Member Turtle shared that the Farmer’s Legacy Group harvested the school corn fields and is waiting to sell the crops for as much as they can get for the schools!

T-Bird Community Arts will be hosting a holiday cantata in December and the board will be choosing the next musical for summer 2025.
