The GFW School Board held a regular meeting on Monday, June 17, 2024. A summary of the meeting is below.
School and Community Recognition
The board recognized Dr. Horton for recent achievements including a nomination for the National Association of School Superintendents Excellence in Small School District Leadership award, being recognized as an Administrator of Excellence by the Minnesota Association of School Administrators and more.
Superintendent’s Report
Dr. Horton shared updates on the work taking place to position GFW Public Schools as a leader in the use of artificial intelligence in the classroom including the work and training taking place with Guardrailz AI. GFW is known as a district that embraces technology and with the creation of a position focused on this work as well as innovative partnerships, that legacy is continuing.
School Board Reports
Board members shared updates from committee work including updates on the work taking place on the new school site.
The board will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, June 25 to discuss the FY25 budget.

The board approved the consent agenda.
The board approved bids for the PreK-12 building project including doors and signage

The board approved a call for bids on fuel as well as milk and juice to be opened on Thursday, July 16 at 3 p.m.
