Remember To Start Early –
as some scholarships require financial information, letters of recommendation, or for you to complete the FAFSA. When asking someone to write you a letter of recommendation, fill out a Student Bio to help the writer – pick one up in the Career Center.
Watch for deadlines! Does it need to be mailed? Do you need a transcript?
It pays to apply for scholarships.
In the year of 2018, the 34 Seniors and 14 Alumni, who applied for scholarships, received 134 scholarships for a grand total of over $153,580! A little effort goes a long way.

All scholarships should be read carefully and follow the instructions completely. They are listed by due date and post number.
Scholarships that are not completed online should be typed if at all possible and neatly printed in black ink where appropriate. On paper applications, print “see attached” on the lines and attach a typed paper to answer the questions.
Scholarships By Month
- 5/1/19 (#121) MN Association of Townships Scholarship Program: STATE – for JUNIORS ONLY – must write a 450 – 500 word essay on “Sense of the Census – Rural Representation at Risk”. There are a total of 6) $1000 scholarships available state wide. See application for more details and past winning essays.
To earn a $500 scholarship from the Winthrop Fire Department Auxiliary you must meet the following requirements: Parent is a current member of the Winthrop Fire Department OR Parent is a retired member with 20 or more years of service on the Winthrop Fire Department.
This program is designed to offer financial assistance to high school seniors intending to enter the agriculture industry. One (1) $250.00 scholarship will be awarded to a student in the fall of 2019.
