I’ve been with GFW since 2001 and at the High School since 2008. I live in Gibbon with my husband, Jeff. Our 4 youngest children all graduated from GFW.
The Career Center office is located in the high school media center, so I also assist students finding books, and maintain the Chromebook inventory.
As the Career Center Advisor, I help students with planning their high school course of study, and making plans for life after high school. I also help seniors find scholarships to help them finance their after high school education.
I love working with all the students in the high school and consider myself lucky to have this position.
I am a true Minnesota small town girl. I graduated from Ivanhoe Junior High, Comfrey High School (Go Rockets!) and received my BA from the University of Minnesota, Morris. (Go Cougars!) I joined the Winthrop staff in 1983 (fond memories of the Winthrop Warriors) and became part of the GFW merger in 1987. (Go Thunderbirds!) In 1990 I earned a Master’s in Music Education from Arizona State University. I returned to GFW as the music director at the high school for many years. After retiring from that position in 2019, I accepted a part time job as a Literacy Coach through a Striving Readers Comprehensive Literacy Grant from the Minnesota Department of Education.
