Community Education Trips
Stillwater Fall Colors Boat Cruise – Wednesday, October 5
This has become an annual favorite event, but we’ve missed it the last two years. It is so relaxing and also a reminder that our seasons are changing. Hopefully, we’ll see some beautiful fall colors. I am so impressed with the included deli buffet lunch. You could build your own sandwich with all sorts of ingredients and add warm entrée selections and dessert.
- Cost: $85 per person
Church Basement Ladies in Plowin’ Thru Tour – Tuesday, October 11
The Church Basement Ladies are at it again! After an included lunch buffet at Q. Cumbers, which features a 50’ long salad bar, a variety of hot entrees, soup and ice cream/dessert bar, we’re on our way to the Ames Center in Burnsville for the Church Basement Ladies in Plowin’ Thru. In the 9th installment of the highly successful series, the year is 1975 and all your favorite characters are back. Whether this is your first visit to the basement or you’ve seen ‘em all, you won’t want to miss this brand new show. Come along as the ladies don their polyester pantsuits and sing, dance and laugh their way thru this hilarious and touching new musical, Plowin’ Thru.
- Cost: $90 per person
Dancing Lessons – Wednesday, November 2
Our destination is the Ives Auditorium in Bloomington where we’ll begin with an included lunch of creamy chicken breast served with roasted red potatoes, glazed carrots, coleslaw, dinner roll, dessert and coffee or tea. (Special dietary meals are available by request ahead of time.) Then we’ll head for the theatre for Dancing Lessons. A professional dancer with a career-ending injury is thrown for a loop when a geoscientist shows up on her doorstep asking for a dance lesson. Offering her an absurd amount of money to teach him enough moves to avoid embarrassing himself at an awards dinner, these two mis-matched souls engage in a series of lessons that lead them both out of their comfort zone. As their
relationship blossoms, they’re both caught off-guard by the hilarious and heartwarming discoveries they make about each other and about themselves. Charming, touching, funny and life-affirming, don’t miss this delightfully unpredictable romantic comedy.
- Cost: $93 per person
Sausage, Beer, Pizza Buffet & Lights Tour – Tuesday, December 6
This tour has it all… one of the best meat markets in the state, the #1 ranked MN brewery (WCCO-TV), a pizza buffet, and a very popular light display… all in one tour… and just in time for Christmas! We’ll begin with casual shopping at Schmidt’s Meat Market in Nicollet. (I really suggest that you bring coolers with your name clearly marked on them.) After you’ve had time to buy those Christmas party meats, we’ll head to Schell’s Brewery in New Ulm for a tour and tasting of their fine products. Not a beer drinker? They also make 1919 root beer. By now we’re hungry, so we’re off to the Pizza Ranch for an included late afternoon pizza buffet. (They’re even opening their buffet early just for us.) We’ll end our day with the beautiful Kiwanis Holiday Lights in Mankato.
- Cost: $82 per person (Ages 12 & under are $68 per person)
